Thanks for your expertise and continued help. I’ll understand most of what you (the forum) tell me and when I don’t ‘get it’, I’ll go find out and learn. I have to rely on you experts for new knowledge.

Given these details, just know, I’m not worrying, but my quest to understand drives every post I make. I’ve built more computers that I can count – as most of us have – but now it’s easier to buy a system as time is valuable. In my 45 year career (retired now) I’ve worked on computer motherboards back in the ISA, EISA, and early PCI days – and worked closely with Intel, Dell, Micron, Acer and IBM developing motherboards for desktop and server products. Starting with GPU-Z 2.38, the PCI-Express Resizable BAR status is now displayed in the main window on the Graphics Card tab. My background, not that it matters, is Electrical Engineering, and by nature I am very inquisitive. First, the NVIDIA System Information applet will have an entry on the Display tab for Resizeable BAR, which should be Yes. ‘could there be something wrong’? It’s happened before. and assume the readings you see from Speccy are correct… so I question my system. I notice some specs seem ‘off’, so you look closer. that sounds interesting, and something I know nothing about, so I load the program and generally notice it tells temps and memory speeds of the system components. Then someone on the forum mentions Speccy.

Here’s the ‘process’ get a new computer, in this case an XPS system from Dell, and soon after you find the Dell XPS forum and some of the first things you notice is many are looking at CPU temps, noticing they are running higher than most like.
